For 31 years, The Promise has offered Somervell County residents at least one free night to come out and see a performance. That isn’t going to change in 2019! The entire opening weekend is free to you. Just bring some non-perishable food to support Papa’s Pantry, our local food bank.
Don’t worry surrounding counties, you’re not forgotten. You can get 1/2 price tickets. Just use code “SURROUND19” at the time of purchase for reduced pricing and I’m sure they’d love it if you bring some non-perishable food items to help us support our local food bank.
Since the last Saturday of July 2019, the cast and crew of over 130 people have been working hard to learn their parts in the production. Long 12 hour days in the heat at the Texas Amphitheater preparing to give their patrons the absolute best performances in 2019.
If you haven’t had the opportunity to see the show since The Promise hired Chuck King, the Managing Director, you have no idea what you’ve been missing these last 2 years! I don’t want to set crazy expectations, but each season gets better and better. As he spent a lot of years in ministry in Israel, he’s familiar with Jewish culture. He’s added a lot of Jewish music and choreography and so much more dynamic to the show! He is very talented in writing lyrics and music scoring AND in directing the cast to be the best that they can be!
The long time characters of Grandpa and his grandkids are missed, but the new first century family added a new energy that more than makes up for it. Feel like YOU are part of the story!
Because I, and 3 other members of my family are part of the cast for this season, I am having the opportunity to work with an outstanding cast! There are many new faces as well as some who have been around since the first few years of it starting up.
If you’ve never seen this show, you don’t know what you’re missing, but you will love this show. If you have seen The Promise before, even as recent as last year, I encourage you to come see it again! There’s enough new to make you smile. If it’s been a while, you certainly need to come see the show. The story of Jesus never changes, but the presentation has many times in the last 31 years!
