Leading Ladies Lunch |
Leading Ladies is an empowering program under the Glen Rose Chamber of Commerce where women come together to collaborate, learn, and grow - personally and professionally.
Our very first session was a wonderful success! We gathered for lunch at La Palmillia, where our guest speaker, Elizabeth Eichhorn, guided us through an inspiring Ampersand Experience. Her thoughtful approach set the tone for what Leading Ladies is all about: connection, growth, and encouragement.
Elizabeth’s insights left a lasting impression on everyone in the room. Learn more about her incredible journey at Bold Journey. |

Footprint Mystery In Glen Rose |
In 1952, a remarkable photograph was taken during an excavation in the Paluxy River near Glen Rose, Texas. It captured what appeared to be “a giant human-like footprint, circled in white,” sitting among well-preserved dinosaur tracks.
These tracks, typically linked to species like theropods and sauropods, became the focus of intense curiosity. As the original description notes, “the discovery of such a footprint in the same layer of rock as ancient dinosaur tracks challenges conventional understanding of prehistoric life.”
Scientists largely attribute the prints to ancient reptiles, and many believe the human-like footprint is just “a natural geological formation resembling a footprint.” Still, others have speculated that it might suggest “humans and dinosaurs coexisted at some point in history—an idea that remains controversial.”
Whatever the explanation, the Paluxy River site “continues to draw visitors and researchers, who seek to explore the mysteries of this fascinating fossil bed.” The blend of “dinosaur and giant footprints in close proximity” keeps Glen Rose a focal point for curiosity, inquiry, and debate.

Tigers Battle to the Wire Against Top-Ranked Alvarado
Another Friday night under the lights, another nail-biting finish for the Glen Rose Tigers. While the scoreboard didn’t fall in their favor, fans witnessed yet another thrilling performance as the Tigers nearly pulled off a huge upset against one of the top-ranked undefeated teams in the state—Alvarado.
From the opening kickoff, the Tigers came ready to fight, trading blows with Alvarado in what turned into an offensive showdown. Big plays, hard hits, and relentless effort kept Glen Rose in the game all four quarters. In the end, it came down to the wire, but the Tigers fell just short, dropping a 50-55 heartbreaker.
Even in defeat, the Tigers once again proved they belong on the field with the state’s best. Their fight, resilience, and never-back-down attitude had the stands roaring until the final whistle.
The team will take a much-deserved bye week before opening district play on October 10th against Godley. With the grit this young squad continues to show, district opponents should expect the Tigers to come out hungry and ready. |
